It looks like spring has truly sprung and as to be expected, it feels like things have been accelerating. This term is only 5 weeks long, but we have packed in so much.

We continue to deliver regular collective worships and assemblies in 16 different schools in and around Eastbourne.

There has been an opportunity to speak to pupils in their RE lessons at Polegate School about Good Friday and what that means to Christians. I was also very excited to visit Tollgate Junior School for the first time. I spoke on their school value of Compassion and was able to give it an Easter focus looking at Jesus on the cross.

We were privileged to have a visit from Capernwray International Bible College students. We took four of them into two of our schools to share the message that even though we are all different we are equally loved by God.

Chrissie has launched The Night Lantern Project. Having published her own picture book, she has designed a collective worship and creative workshop based around the theme of God’s light in us. This has already received a very enthusiastic response from pupils and schools.

If that wasn’t enough Chrissie and team have been working with Pevensey and Westham School to create an Easter Art installation along with a video assembly.

Please pray with us for the coming term:

That the work would indeed be shared and continue to grow.

For confidence and effectiveness as we use our God given gifts to share the Good News of the Gospel in our schools.

Pray for more schools to respond to the offer of The Night Lantern and that the Lord would use it to open doors into new schools and in pupils’ hearts.

We would love to come to update and encourage your church so do get in touch to arrange a visit to either join a prayer meeting, small group or Sunday service.

LET'S CELEBRATE

This coming year we celebrate our 40th Anniversary -  help us write the next chapter.

Our vision remains as bold as ever: a Christian visitor in every school so that every child has the chance to hear about Jesus.

Whether you choose to give monthly or make a one-off gift, your support puts us in assemblies and classrooms, face to face with children who may never encounter the Gospel anywhere else and gives them the space to ask questions, to wonder, and to discover.

That is a gift beyond measure.

Finally, I have started a WhatsApp prayer broadcast. If you would like to receive brief notifications when we head into schools so that you can lift us up in prayer then reply to this email or send me your mobile number and I’ll add you to the list.

May the Lord bless you as we prepare to give thanks for Jesus’ atoning sacrifice and life-giving resurrection this Easter,

With thanks from Sam and the Eastbourne Spinnaker team.
