Good Friends are Faithful. By Katie Burtonshaw

We all need friends, no matter what time we are going through in life, good or bad, happy or sad, friends help us, support us and keep us smiling!

Many children have experienced lost opportunities for socialising and having physical contact with their friends over the past year so the worship writing team felt passionate about writing a series of worship assemblies where children can rediscover the joy and excitement of good friendship.

Christians believe God created us to be His friends and he wants us to build good faithful friendships with those around us.  The Bible gives many practical ways in which we can learn to be good friends.  Supporting one another, encouraging one another, working together, having fun, respecting one another – even when our friends let us down or fall out with us!

This term, as we explore different bible stories we encourage children to discover what makes a good friend and why friendship is so important.  We explore the different thoughts and emotions we can feel at different times, as we cope with change and a world of uncertainty. We aim to inspire children to have hope for the future, and as they grow we pray that every child might know true friendship with God and those around them.  Learning to appreciate their friends and be encouraged to make their friendships stronger so that they know whatever they may face in the future they are not alone.

Thank you to all our Spinnaker friends. We really appreciate all the faithful support you have given us over the past 35 years!
