It's been a wonderful year!

We are praising God for such a wonderful year when, despite the challenges, we have been able to carry out our Mission in new and effective ways, being able to stay connected to schools digitally. During the Autumn term we have been delighted to be back in the classroom whilst also able to supply excellent online resources where needed. Significant achievements during the year include: development of the new video ministry, the delivery of ‘Moving On - The Change Challenge’ in schools for year 6 students preparing for secondary school, team training in 'Children and Spirituality' with Ronni Lamont, the online and in-person celebration of our 35th year, the launch of a whole new website and communication system, and getting the entire team ready for their return to schools from September. In all it has been an astonishing year and we have learnt we must always trust that God can lead us through trials and into blessing!

Isn't it wonderful that now, at the end of the year, we can celebrate the most wonderful Gift of all?

Prayer points for 2022

We have already planned ahead for next term: Assemblies have been written, videos have been recorded and we are looking forward to sharing the details with you next year. We trust that God will continue to bless the schools we reach in 2022 and would love you to pray with us for the following needs:

  • Continued strong, supportive relationships with existing schools and some new ones
  • God's grace to bless and inspire children and schools staff in every interaction
  • New paid schoolsworkers for London and Eastbourne (to meet the needs in schools)
  • More volunteers to join teams across Spinnaker
  • Wisdom and inspiration as we aspire to share the truths of the Bible in a meaningful and powerfully relevant way
  • Divine connections with partners and funders who will share our heart for this work and for the continued success of our 35 for 35 campaign

Happy Christmas!

Now at the end of term, we are delighted to be delivering the Spinnaker 'Upside Down' Christmas assembly in schools. Wherever possible, this will be in person. However, even though there may be some limits as steps are taken to reduce the impact of Omicron, we are ready with a whole range of online resources for schools to use. This Christmas, children will discover that God’s plan for the birth of His son is not quite what you would expect for the King of Kings! However, during the assembly, they learn from one of our own Christmas angels that:

God’s plan was perfect. He had it planned from the very beginning of time, God himself chose to be born in a stable as a man, to come down to live on earth and show his love for all people and how to live life from his perspective. (see the 'Angels' Story' video here)

We hope and pray that you will have a wonderful Christmas.

We leave you now with the closing prayer from the assembly:

Dear God, thank you for Christmas and for your perfect plan of sending Jesus into the world to be our Saviour. Please help us to understand the plans you have for each one of us as we learn to put our trust in you and those around us who love and care for us. Help us to share your love with others as we celebrate this Christmas. Amen

With every blessing and much love from all of the Spinnaker Team
