RE lessons using a series of Christmas card pictures of the nativity story – using a set of knitted dolls – can be used to discuss the story of Christmas with children.

Each picture includes a strategic question mark - and these can be used at different levels with children - to tell parts of the Bible narrative, to ask what they know about it, and to discuss its significance for Christians.

These could be used in a carpet/circle time for story and discussion, or in many other ways. The pictures are available to print, or as a powerpoint.

Here are ideas for using the Spinnaker Nativity set pictures in class with primary school children, including ideas for discussion questions for different age/ability levels. They can be used in a variety of ways; E.g. A KS2 lesson where groups are given a card each with the associated story and questions, a series of KS1 class story times or assemblies in the week or two leading up to Christmas, A ‘Philosophy for Children’ session or two. The choice is yours!
