Got the T-shirt

t-shirtThese eight assemblies on the life of Joseph, and the places he went, relate well to Summer term SEAL themes. The phrase ‘Been there… got the T-shirt!’, often used when people talk about their experiences and travels, is used as a linking theme.

Throughout Joseph's travels and experiences, he clung to the belief that God was with him, and would look after him. Joseph also looked out for other people. Maybe we can learn from the way he handled what life threw at him, trusting God in the good and the bad.

Resources: There are two main strands of resources running through this series.

a. Joseph Box: Find a suitable box in which to place an object each week. Decorate to give it an Egyptian theme, perhaps with the word ‘Joseph’ in hieroglyphics. See online hieroglyphics http://www.quizland.com/hiero.mv.

b. T-shirts: Find old t-shirts, or buy small, plain ones, to adapt for each assembly. Paint them using fabric paints or pens, or stitch on crepe paper or material.  They can then be worn by children in the assemblies. Or use large card outlines of t-shirts.
