Doors

doorDoors represent many things: opportunity, security, welcome, or rejection if slammed in your face! A door like 10 Downing Street represents privilege and status.

What's behind a door? Who can open it? Who has the key? Children's fiction often uses the idea of a door - a wardrobe door, or a gate to a secret garden.

In a time of heightened security and fear, it is tempting to retreat behind closed doors. It is good to reassure children that there is not a threat behind every door, and that some doors lead to caring, considerate yet different cultures.

Jesus suggested that life's answers are found by coming to His door, which opens to anyone who knocks. Christians believe that God, in His love, prepares and shapes their future, so too their faith in God should also shape their optimism and contentment.
